These are the reasons I became a blogger and will continue to be one as long as possible.
1) Your passion for food is translated as appeasing pics and food articles. A post on how and why you made that apple pie is not just a recipe, but an experience shared.
2) A food journal to record your favorite recipes. All the recipes you bookmarked takes shape in your blog as your handiwork.
3) It's a hobby that one can never get bored of. You'll stop blogging about food only if you're bored of food. That'll never happen with most of us food bloggers.
4) To make friends and meet like minded people. I've made many friends online cos of food blogging. We met in person and developed a wonderful relationship though we were from different places and background. Food brought us together.
5) My blog is my platform to spread the word about health. I love healthy food. As I pen down a recipe, I also share the impact of the ingredients on one's health. People come to know about facts as they read the recipes
6) It paves way for one to explore different cuisines. For instance, Ethiopian Injera may not be of interest to me, till I read about in a blog and wanted to try it myself.
7) One can monetize with a good food blog. Not a big amount of money can be earned, but something decent for your time and effort. Some bloggers have become cookbook writers and have bagged some luscious food projects, TV ads etc Whether or not one gets paid, blogging is satisfying. I don't get paid for blogging, sharing recipes or taking time to reply to all queries sent my way. I do it for the love of food.
9) You inspire others and you get inspired too. I can proudly say that some of my readers are inspired by some of my recipes that were generally intimidating. They took the plunge to try it out and learned something new from my blog.
10) Finally, a food blog is not just recipes, instructions and lovely pics. It's about what you are as person in real life. You can't fake your way through writing about food. At least for me it's not possible to be what I'm not when I talk about food. During my initial blogging days I read a random post by a food blogger about her divorce and she had apologized for not able to post recipes frequently as she was going through a rough patch. I didn't know this person or I haven't even seen a pic of her. I sent her a mail just sharing a few words of comfort as I felt so much pain in her words. She cried her heart out in her reply mail to me and I was glad that I was her comforter at that moment. That was FOOD FOR SOUL! Hence I blog about food.

Some of us cook, some are professional chefs, some of us are culinarians, some are food tasters and more....but all of us eat, have favourite foods, talk about taste, flavours etc. yet only a "few" of us share!
So be one among the "few" who share --
to reflect your love & passion for food
to learn from others who share like you
to create platform for like-minded food lovers & for anything on food
to become a stop-point for non-foodies too
to be a medium to celebrate food and more!
Now go ahead & have a food blog to share with anyone who eats
