No, i am not referring to talking during lunch or dinner. This is to do with those pesky phone calls we get as we sit down for a meal. It could be at home or when we are out with friends/family/cfg gang.
What do you do?
At a restaurant--
1. Take the call from your seat [going beyond a few mins]?
2. Ignore the call and call the person back later?
3. Excuse yourself, go outside and talk?
4. Take the call but tell the person quickly that you will call them back unless urgent?
5. Put your phone in silent mode and leave it in your pocket/bag?
At home-
1. Talk from the table?
2. Move to another room and talk?

At home - I try and answer the call, excuse myself go out and talk. Unless the call is urgent, I usually tell the caller that I will speak to them later after lunch/dinner.

I know its a tough ask.. but whenever you are in front of food the concentration should be only on food and how it tastes and enjoy it. This way, what you eat digests well and is absorbed into your blood stream. Thinking about only food helps the brain secret the necessary amount of digestive juices to ingest the food. Thinking about other things, personal problems, watching tv, chatting with others on the table or answering phone only works against it. So none of the above ;)

Thank you all for sharing your response...
Yesterday when I was out eating at a restaurant, I posed this question to the restaurant owners and they were both stumped... they agreed it was a valid question, but one which had no one concrete answer.. But then during the course of the meal, i noticed them both excuse themselves when they got a call.. :-)
Talk while you eat
