This beautiful Vegetarian restaurant is tucked away in the bottom of the Yafa building on KNK road. I was overjoyed to know that Chennai finally has a HIGH QUALITY VEGETARIAN only restaurant. No longer would my parents who are vegetarians need to compromise on quality and/or quantity. This place has the perfect lighting and ambiance. Once were seated I was taken aback by all the different cuisines to choose from - Indian, Mexican, Chinese, Mediterranean. This was truly a global vegetarian restaurant. We started with a variety of fresh salads from the salad buffet counter followed by paneer skewers, this was a remarkable dish. The paneer was done just right - something simple that 90% of other restaurants always get wrong. Then we had the Mexican macaroni which was so perfectly creamy and savory. Left me wanting more and more. To finish it off we had the Baklava - my all time favorite and the Svingi - OH MY GOD. This decadent dessert was just what the doctor ordered. Beautifully fried warm chocolate balls. The chocolate just oozes out as you cut into it, made for the perfect end to a meal. I must also mention that the staff were were truly concerned. They seemed to go above and beyond in order to accommodate us and make sure that all our needs were taken care of. They were very helpful when it came to helping us select a dish and patiently took ample time to guide us through the vast menu. We left this place truly feeling special. This place is a MUST VISIT for any vegetarian or anyone who likes quality food in that regard. Kryptos has surely entered the the elite class that very few other vegetarian restaurants share in Chennai. I cannot wait to dine and experience this beautiful establishment again.

The set up & ambiance of Kryptos Vegetarian is spectacular though it is tucked away in the basement of a building within the heart of the city that has dozens of restaurants. We are vegetarian & travelled to Chennai from Canberra (Australia) & went to Kryptos on our mates recommendation from Auckland, New Zealand. We really loved the cold meze salad buffet spread - great variety & colorful! Very few other places offered us so much in salad to choose from of high quality & exceptional standing. The yummiest was the rich, warm, thick & flavorful spinach soup, chickpea soup & Mousakka we drowned ourselves in! We were told that the Buffalo Mozzarella, Parmesan & Ricotta cheese used at Kryptos are vegetarian (they do not contain animal renett). The cost for lunch was INR1600 for both 2 of us. We also met the Chef - Vipin, who owns Kryptos (& over a dozen other restaurants in Chennai) & were explained that his main job is to see the best in people who have never seen their best. This is what we'd call leadership at it's core best. Kryptos is one of the most reliable Veggy eat outs Chennai. Please do open up in Aussie too, veggy eateries are taking up our country by storm :)

Great Food accompanied by good service makes Kryptos a must for any Greek food lover. With its many different kebabs and soulakis it is a place that you would definitely want to visit again and again. A perfect place with friends or an intimate dinner Kryptos will want you coming back again and again. Will definitely be back soon. Cheers
