Noodle King has been around for years now, i remember visiting it very very long ago and started wondering why they decided to call themselves Noodle King cos it sets our expectations high with a name like that! The food is still the same, the manchurian i ate last time had a soy sauce overdose, the wonton i ate this time was undercooked with an oil overdose. The egg fried rice can be called just 'rice' since there was hardly any egg and it wasnt really fried to say the least. The fried-noodles is said to be good here, am yet to try it. Only thing i loved about the food is the tomato sauce, it was so yumm and gave a flavor to the rest of the food making it edible. The ambiance, though you cannot expect much from a fast-food joint, could've been better. The place is mainly for take away and delivery but there are few people who dine-in here (like the poor 'me'). The oily smell and breeze from the 'hot chips' right against the wall is sickening. The worst is that for a fast-food place, the service is slower than even a fine dining restaurant. Only reason i decided on giving it 3 stars is cos the food is priced nominal and they deliver Chinese food in the centre of the city, which is not yet so common in Chennai. I can see so much of opportunity and potential going wasted here. I dont know if its sheer laziness of the staff or the anyway-i-get-my-customers attitude of the management. Maybe the place is worth a try but definitely not for dine-in or when you are in a hurry (or really hungry).
