I looooooovvvvve Biriyani and my quest for the best biriyani in town never ends.Charminar is the one place that has never disappointed me.One of the best biriyanis I've ever had.I love the mild spices, the amazing flavour, the succulent chicken peices and the exceptional quantity. .:) I've always ordered for home delivery so I don't really have an idea of how the restaurant is but the food is just outstanding. In fact, after visiting Hyderabad and knowing what real hyderabadi biriyani tastes like, I love Charminar even more!!! Totally worth a visit.

really appreciate this place for maintaining their quality and price. I am so much impressed by them that i have recommended this place to many and all have come back smiling. One restaurant that has not let me down so far. exactly the reason why i have named my write up as \"kasam charminar biriyani ki\" http://thefoodstruck.blogspot.in/2012/08/kasam-charminar-biriyani-ki-charminar.html

went there in the month of November 2012 ..... first went for the lunch myself.... the biriyani they offer is almost equals the original Hyderabadi one ... after next few days , we visited that place for the dinner .... enjoyed the taste , which was excellent .... the portions were very much generous .... the sweet dish qubani ka meeta was great ....in general a nice restaurant which offers generous portions of tasty food , ...charges nominally too... strongly recommended ....

The 1st time I made a visit was a few weeks ago, and the 2nd time was within a fortnight from my 1st visit. Yes, i actually went back for dinner with a friend. I quite liked the place, and the food. Was quite worried when nish kept saying "no ambiance" but saw it had quite an ambiance, albeit simple. Among the starters, I liked the one they had with paneer, felt like two slices of paneer were sandwiched with cheese in between and soaked in a yoghurt based marinade, dont remember the name.. It was yummm The others were good, but dint leave a lasting memory. Moving on to the main dishes, I enjoyed the Veg biryani, unlike most places it was not overloaded with masala or spice. The garlic naan was another item that i enjoyed. After copper chimney, this is my next favorite place :) The yellow daal was yumm, and it arrived in the table in a small bucket of sorts.. very cute The desserts were a bit of let down [tried em during the 1st time and so skipped em on 2nd visit].. The place is total value for money and portions are good, more than enough for 2 persons. Oh, must make a special mention- When i was there with a friend and her 4yr old son, she ordered Achari chicken as a starter. And her son ate 2 pieces, even though it was spicy and he kept gulping down sips of water. he just wouldnt let go. And when my friend requested him to try the chicken from the biryani, he refused saying he liked only the red one and wanted only that :) So, Charminar you have a loyal customer in him... :)

Charminar has delighted me when I relocated from Hyderabad to Chennai. Though I didn't find real Hyderabad flavour anywhere, Charminar has fulfilled those Hyderabad desires up to an extent. Charminar Biryani is one of the best biriyani in Chennai which you can get from a restaurant. Still I will suggest them to improve the quantity/size of chicken pieces. Tastewise it is a decent affair. Most important thing is the service and the very good service, and they are ready to hear your suggestions and complaints too. So that is a good gesture from a restaurant like this. I have also tried haleem from Charminar during the Ramadan season. They have brought people from Hyderabad to provide authentic Haleem, and it tasted good too. I still have to explore their full menu as I got many good opinions about their other items.

I have had the so called hyderabad dum biryani at so many places on which few have even tasted good. I thought I don't even know what is a real authentic hyderabad dum biryani anymore. But when I saw the biryani here I was overly excited. Wanted to click a few before starting to eat but as I was roaming the city all day I was extremely hungry. Earlier that day went to savera hotel to witness chef malgudi cook for 30 straight hours. She was whipping up a dish ever few mins but none was passed around so we could taste. With that disappointment went to charminar! When we saw the biryani container it was really huge but when we were served we realized that the design is such that it looks huge. Anyways the quantity was better than many restaurants in the city. There is option to have biryani with double masala but we decided to stick with regular. First few mouthful were only to satisfy the imminent hunger but after that I started savoring every bite. It has a nice aroma but different from chennai biryani. It was flavorsome all the way through. Masala was just enough. Next we ordered appolo fish which was awesome when it had in Vijayawada once. The fish came piping hot and it tasted amazing. It was boneless seer fish cooked in Andhra style. By this time the biryani was done so just for the sake of trying the fish with biryani we ordered an another plate of chicken hyderabad dum biryani. Heavenly is the only word. I wanted to lie down there before we leave but packed the remaining biryani and relaxed for a few mins. These two dishes were incredible. We also had Andhra style chicken 65 and also some type of kebab. Both were good but nothing to rave about. It will cost 800rs for 2 people having a 3 course meal here. Totally worth it. Ambiance and service was decent.

Dined with Divyan and thoroughly enjoyed the Hyderabadi - Chicken/Mutton Biryani. Authentic, overpowering & tasty. And 1 biryani can easily fill 2 hungry stomachs! :) Food In Chennai - Divyan George : Charminar http://http://www.chennaifoodreview.com/2012/08/charminar.html
